Format of Future Meetings
At the March meeting we discussed several issues to improve the quality of our meetings and ways to attract more members.
It was felt that we should have a beginners’ session at each meetings where one of the more experienced members of the club goes through issues that people new to hobby might have rather than somebody going on a rant J about their specialized field.
I was also decided to give a bit more structure to the meetings by discussing an issue picked in advance. If you have any suggestions please feel free to communicate them either through the website or at the next meeting.
However, the meetings will still be a sociable gathering as well as informative.
On the issue of attracting a bigger membership base, it was felt that we should approach our two sponsors to attach a flyer with the club’s details and an invitation to one of our meetings to each new tank sold in their respective shops. These fliers will be distributed shortly. Hopefully this will attract both experienced fishkeepers and those new to the hobby.
‘Open Days’ were also suggested attract more members. However, this will have to be checked with Fins and Things and Petstop to arrange dates and we also will need volunteers to attend. We will be looking for names at the next meeting.
